First Transformers BD-Live Material Revealed

Posted September 24, 2008 08:57 AM by Josh Dreuth

Paramount Paramount Home Entertainment has revealed that they will release its first BD-Live feature - a video called "Robot Ninjas' - for the 'Transformers' Blu-ray on September 30th. The video will focus entirely on the battle between Bumblebee and Barricade, showcasing home videos and animatics gathered from the film's stunt crew.

The second BD-Live feature, called "What Effing Happened in Mission City", is coming soon. It is also expected that Paramount will use the BD-Live features on 'Transformers' to promote the sequel, which is filming now.

The BD-Live update for WinDVD 9 cannot happen soon enough. I hope these features will still be up early next year...

Excellent! I really have to get my BD50 wired now.

These kinds of meaningful post-facto extras are the secret weapon of BD-Live. And those featurettes sound like fun!

That is so cool! But how will people know to check their existing copies of Transformers for new
content when they don't read forums like these?

Cap, Paramount will begin communicating this information in a newsletter/email service eventually. It should roll out in a few weeks.

Now it's just a matter of how to keep up with BD-Live extras, since you'll otherwise not know about them unless posted (like here) or you put in the BD and check for extras.

Where do you sign up for info on the extras, Geonosis? Just regular ole Paramount site?

Thanks for that question CptGreedle and the answer Geonosis. I was wondering the same thing myself.
