The update says it would fix stuttering and skipping video, so presumably it would fix your problems with stuttering and skipping video. Too bad it can't correct for grammar and punctuation.
I have a BD-HP20S (in The Netherlands) and was unsuccesfull to update the ISO-file firmware (tried it four times, resulting in an error). After searching on the internet, I 'accidentally' used the HU8022000-update throug the USB-port. It worked, bu now my Zone B-player has turned into a Zone A-player... Any update I try is now resulting in a message that the player is already updated, so I guess I have to downgrade before I use the European update (HE8022000).
So in short: does anybody have an old version of the firmware as a .rvp-file? And maybe the HE8022000 as a .rvp-file that I can upload throug the USB-connection?
well I love my blu ray player but... I tried to do the firmware update and I get this message
that says that I have more than one file on the USB... I don't get it
I can't do the update so I called Sharp and I sent in my blu ray player but...
what happens when I need another update???? they only added the updated firmware
and did not replace the parts.. I tried to do the update myself again when I got the player
back but it did the same thing.. I will wait until the next firmware. does anyone know when
that will be ??? Sharp does not list when we will need them.. I am hoping that the next
one will work and that its just an error with this current upgrade.. if so then I will have
to ditch this player cost (323.00) I guess I will be out of that money if it doesn't work
its a bit of money.. does anyone know of any good players that you can burn the firmware
update to disc and just insert it? the denon is too expensive and doesn't play CD's
At least for the US version. A piece of advice is to never update a version that a brand spanking new. If there is a serious flaw that went undected in their internal testing, it will get cuaght shortly after realese and then you will see a new relaese a couple weeks later. My rule of thumb is make sure the release is two seeks old before doing the upgrade...
you can put the firmware on CD for the original Samsung player. But it was also a PITA to do. It's really easy to put the firmware on a USB stick and just go... I've never had an issue!
hi, i was wondering if this firmware will allow playback of "dvd+r dl" discs? i have many of those discs but i get a message saying "incompatible disc".
Hi Woodpecker, i have the same problem.
I updated BD-HP20 (not S) with the new firmware from US hu806200.
Now i cannot go back or update with another firmware.
Did you resolve your problem or know something more?
Thank you
I rented The Happening tonight, but no joy. After I evenually get to the main menu using my
BD-HP20U and try to play it, I get nothing. It runs the 20th Century Fox thing and the FBI warning, but then nothing but darkness. I can't navigate anywhere. When I get back to the menu again after starting all over, I try jumping to a later scene or playing any of the special features, but still nothingness. I've even tried playing using dolby digital instead of dts. Driving me nuts. I have the latest firmware upgrade installed.
I bought the Happening and I got the same thing previews and just darkness. And the time counter just sat still no movement no matter what scene I tryed to access.I also own a BD-HP20U "what the heck "i've done a firmware update even sent player back to Shape when I had a problem with update.Im almost worried about buying or renting any more blue-ray movies,I do love the quality of the picture and sound, but don't want to sit down to watch a movie and have to sit and watch nothing. I do own about 65 Blue-ray movies but now i'm afraid the future discs won't work or i'll have to do a firmware update. Is there some way we can know about these type of issues before we buy or rent blue-ray movies?
Fortunately in the forum i met a very kind person who helped me:

had the same issue. Actually its very easy to go back.
Download the EU firmware from the site, but make sure you
grab the ISO. Burn a CD. That CD will overwrite any update,
even when its a newer version (where the system through
USB would tell you it need not update).
You should be back at the EU setting, and be able to play
region B again.
I did what he said, and now i can playing with EU country code burning the firmware said above by Roksvempire and well updating the firmware.
