No firmware update since April 2010, in spite of repeated efforts to convince Samsung that more and more recent BR discs simply don't play. They have done NOTHING, repeat ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to address the increasing issues around this player. So a nice screw you to all the consumers that purchased this Samsung product from the company that took their money.
Iron Man 2: stutters and recovers at the half hour mark. Aliens Quadrilogy. Most discs won't play at all (special features seem to be mostly okay). Where Eagles Dare: doesn't play the last two or three chapters but freezes. And several other discs stutter or freeze. Salt: stutters and freezes on second-to-last chapter, then skips about a minute before picking up again. Inception: will stutter and/or freeze often when the special features are branched into a scene. Different so far on every viewing. When will this be fixed? No way of telling. The more people bitch about it, the more likely it is to be fixed.
