I bet they are the edited R rated versions... but it is odd they would contain featurette on 3-D yet the film isn't presented that way or is it, at least as an option?

I want the box-set but if they never announce it then I will buy all individually just like I did on DVD since the box set had junk for "extras"

Thanks Darkangel,
it would make sense for the reboot to hit the same day. Oddly enough the 3D-DVD had no extra's but the trailer, but the blu has 'em. It does suck that they are not the un-rated versions. But if they look as good as the original BD, then that's good enough for me.

I'll pass and wait for the boxset especially since it seems like they are holding back with these individual releases. Also I would like the 3rd one in 3D since that is how it was meant to be seen.

I'll definetly be picking these up, i wish they would have just released all of the movies in a box set like they did with the SE DVD's...i'm not a fan of waiting 5 or 6 months between releases. I'd rather just get them all at once and in a box set that is a little thinner then 8 bluray cases (shelf space is a serious isue with me as well as i'm sure whith a lot of you)
also, i don't know if this is the sme release date for the reboot, but it would make sense, except that these are from paramount and the reboot is from newline
i'll definetly expect it around the same time, but same day might not happen (unless paramount knows newlines release schedule?)

I too will probably wait for a box set announcement... which may be a while. I still have the 6 disc Best Buy exclusive set on DVD, & in no rush to upgrade yet.

Since the 3rd film is in 3D on DVD (when they reissued it a few months ago) I would assume the Blu-ray will be too. I am going to bide my time and wait for a set at a cheaper price.

OK, come on.... Paramount is putting Blu-Ray energies into Friday the 13th 2 and 3, but we STILL don't have "Talented Mr. Ripley" on Blu?? Step up your game, Paramount!

ill wait for possibly the release of all the unrated/uncut versions
all of these movies are notorious for being edited to the point i dont even consider them gory whatsoever
if i recall correctly, the unrated dvds were released in other countries, i have seem the uncut versions of several friday the 13th movies and the difference is huge

No "Friday the 13th" news is worth hearing until the announcement of a completely uncut Parts I - VIII Blu-ray boxset with an alternate uncut version of Part III in 3D.

I've seem a couple posts on waiting for "unrated" versions of 2 & 3. Question is do unrated prints of these films even exist. One did of the first one because that was the euro version of Friday 1, but to my knowledge that wasn't the case for any of the follow-ups (and since Paramount treated the Friday series with all the love and respect they showed the porn that was filmed on their backlot during the 70s, I'd wager they don't exist). I hate to be the "glass half empty" guy, but I'm not holding my breath on those ever seeing the light of day (especially pt 7, cuz if memory serves the only unrated version was a workprint that the director, John Carl Beuechler (apologise if spelled wrong) had on vhs that he let Paramount use footage of for the DVD boxset). That being said, if pt. 3 is not in 3D (no excuse as a new print was struck for the DVD), I'll pass on that one.

The box set had the extras, a whole disc full, not the individual dvds. They had maybe a trailer. That's it

Am I the only one who thinks the cover of Part 3 at HDRoom looks a little "fakey"? Like they just scanned the cover of the regular DVD release and squeezed it down to fit the dimensions of a blu-ray case? Sure looks hinky...
P.S. High-Def Digest has this to say:
"('Part 3' has been confirmed as being presented in 2-D only, with no 3-D version offered.)"
Hopefully they are wrong.

The specs and extras are identical to the UK releases. The transfers should be the same too. Part 2 is not bad, but Part 3 is a mess. 3 is not in 3D

They have to release Part 3 in 3-D....why would they just release the 3-D version for the DVD only?? 1st day purchases for me! Can't wait to see them on Blu....because the Part 1 looked beautiful!!! It will be one expensive summer!!! LOL!

After watching part of Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3-D, which was a horrible experience, do we even want F13 III in 3D? I am just happy to be getting it on Blu!

Part 2 is definite purchase. Part 3, maybe, while I do enjoy it IMO this is the one where it started to go downhill and get campy and cheesy.

Day one buy for me. I don't care if part 3 is in 3D or not. Have you guys ever watched anything in 3D at home? Journey to the Center of the Earth anyone? The 3D sucks big time! 3D doesn't look good at home; it's all purple and headache inducing. Apart from the original Friday, these two are my faves

Thedigitalbits has confirmed part 3 in 3-D
Here's good news for you horror fans: As we predicted in The Rumor Mill last month, Paramount has just announced the Blu-ray Disc release of Friday the 13th: Part 2 and Friday the 13th: Part 3... and yes, the latter will be in 3-D! Part 2 will include 4 featurettes (Crystal Lake Memories, Friday's Legacy: Horror Conventions, Lost Tales from Camp Blood: Part 2 and Jason Forever - all but the last in HD) and the theatrical trailer (HD). Part 3 will also include 4 featurettes (Fresh Cuts: 3D Terror, Legacy of the Mask, Slasher Films: Going for the Jugular and Lost Tales From Camp Blood: Part 3 all in HD) and the theatrical trailer (HD). It will also include a couple pairs of 3-D glasses.
