The Beastmaster 4K Blu-ray
Posted September 25, 2020 04:50 PM by
Vinegar Syndrome has announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray Don Coscarelli's The Beastmaster (1982), starring Marc Singer, Tanya Roberts, Rip Torn, John Amos, and Rod Loomis. Currently, the release is set to arrive on the market on November 24.
When he was a baby, Dar (Marc Singer, TV's 'V') was cursed by an all-powerful wizard named Maax (Rip Torn, Men in Black) to prevent him from rightfully ascending as the leader of his people. But the curse left him with a unique gift: the ability to telepathically communicate with all forms of animal life. But when Maax all but wipes out his tribe leaving Dar to fend for himself, he begins a quest of vengeance, accompanied by his animal friends, to Maax and end his reign of terror and violence.
Directed by legendary genre filmmaker Don Coscarelli (Phantasm, Bubba Ho-Tep) and co-starring Tanya Roberts (Sheena), John Amos (Coming to America), and Rod Loomis (Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure), THE BEASTMASTER is a thrilling mix of fantasy, action, and adventure, with touches of horror. Photographed by Academy Award winning cinematographer John Alcott (Barry Lyndon, A Clockwork Orange) and featuring incredible production design by Conrad Angone, Vinegar Syndrome Ultra brings THE BEASTMASTER to 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray in a brand new 4K restoration!

The label has also confirmed that the following titles will be released on Blu-ray Vernon Zimmerman's Fade to Black, Ferdinando Merighi's French Sex Murders, Tonino Valerii's My Dear Killer, and William L. Rose's The Girl in Room 2A. (The last three films will be included in a Giallo collection box set).
Holy crap, this is awesome. One of my favorite movies ever and have been wanting a Blu-Ray release for years now. I kinda wish they would have done a box set with all 3 movies together because I actually really like Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time alot. Part 3 was fairly okay, but I would still love to have the full series all on Blu-Ray.
Awesome News. Yeah I Wish They Would Release Beastmaster 2: Through The Portal Of Time As Well. It's Never Really Had A Decent Release And Would Be Great To See It Remastered, If Only On (Blu-ray) Would Be Fine. The Third Beastmaster Wasn't That Great, It Was Really Poorly Done And Looked Very Cheap. So It Doesn't Really Matter To Me About That One. Another Great 80's Sword And Sorcery Type Movie I Hope They Release On (Blu-ray) Soon Is The Sword And The Sorcerer.
Still no details if this will have digital code.
Been hanging on to my DVD for a long time. This title never was Disc to Digital on Vudu and not been able to add to my digital collection. I hope with the new 4K release a digital version is also released.
Still lookingf for Young Guns we haven't forgot the place holder for Digital on Vudu which has been about 8 years and still nothing.
@ Cutter_ : The title will still be available until stock runs out however the discounted pre-order price ends tomorrow at midnight. If this is anything like the Rad pre-order then I'd just go ahead and purchase it if you're interested in a physical copy.
When I get this, I will start my first viewing at 7:05 in honor of all the times I watched this on TBS with their weird five-minutes-after-the-hour start times on their programming.
@dmarvin and @section31 thanks. Unfortunately, all my bills have been paid this paycheck. I can't do it until after the 1st. Good news that I can still order then, as I want this (although the full price is pretty high, ouch).
"Beastmaster" was one of the better sword & Sorcery films that seems to have taken the long road to Blu Ray/4K--but that wait will be over soon thanks to Vin Sin! Instantly pre-ordered when I saw the title listed!
So "BrowncoatJedi", you took time out of your very busy schedule to let us know, in a thread that supports the release, that you think this a terrible movie.
I truly envy you.
Personally, I just ordered this release, together with their very very cool, "Fade To Black" T-shirt.
Will Beastmaster be made available as a standard (and not ltd ed) blu-ray release in the near future? Don't have 4KTV, and can't afford overseas ship plus the cost of this UHD.
I preordered the whole package. I mean with Beastmaster and Fade To Black being announced titles the secret titles are surely to be even bigger. I hope.
