Friday the 13th Part III SteelBook Blu-ray
Posted March 3, 2022 04:37 PM by
Paramount Home Media Distribution will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Steve Miner's Friday the 13th Part III (1982) with a brand new SteelBook Edition of the film, which will be available for purchase on May 10th.
Description: The third installment in the "Friday the 13th" series picks up on the day after the carnage with homicidal maniac Jason Voorhees (Richard Brooker) stealing some clothes and killing a local store owner. Meanwhile, Chris (Dana Kimmell) and her sometimes boyfriend, Rick (Paul Kratka), are hosting a group of teenage friends at Chris' lake house. Despite a run-in with a local biker gang, they enjoy an amiable weekend together -- that is, until Jason begins knocking off kids and bikers alike.
Ah man, the whole point of the film is to see the opening titles soaring overhead in 3D, and then settling in to watch all the glorious carnage as it pokes out of the screen every few minutes. No no no, no. Someone at Paramount needs to be stuffed into a sleeping bag and smacked repeatedly against a tree
If course I would love a 4K release but some people like the steelbooks as well. This is what that is for. Steelbook collectors. Don't want it? Don't buy it. Simple.
Halloween 1-5 has amazing 4K blu ray's it's time Friday The 13th & A Nightmare On Elm Street got the same treatment at least the first 5 movies of each so the series fans get a real treat.
yes these are really fantastic looking don't get me wrong but i think i'll pass this time around cause i already have the fantastic box set that came out a year and a half ago wasn't it? that one is fucking perfect i think. i wonder if they will do an Elm Street one soon? with Deleted scenes that have never been seen on any release or even made public? that would be fucking great.
but yeah this is for Collectors and while there's nothing wrong with that i've lost count how many times they've put this on either dvd or bluray for that matter. i do hope the collectors do enjoy the hell out of it though but i think i shall pass this time around
At least they put the new remaster onto this disc. Last year when they released the part 2 steelbook they didn't use the new remaster, am I correct? Wouldn't this have been the perfect opportunity for Paramount to put out their own disc of the existing true 3D presentation? I guess there won't be a steelbook next year since part 4 didn't come out until 84. I wonder if Paramount will put out their own 3-3D disc next year to fill in the gap?
