Hell in the Pacific Blu-ray

Kino Lorber have confirmed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of director John Boorman's film Hell in the Pacific (1968), starring Lee Marvin and Toshirô Mifune. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year.
Synopsis: From the director of Excalibur and Deliverance comes this "gripping" (Leonard Maltin) adventure about two wartime enemies trapped alone on a desert island. Academy Award winner Lee Marvin (The Dirty Dozen) and Toshiro Mifune (The Seven Samurai) deliver "striking and well-etched performances" (LA Herald-Examiner) in this searing psychological drama that packs "plenty of action and excitement" (Motion Picture Herald)!
From the instant they meet, a marooned American soldier (Marvin) and his Japanese counterpart (Mifune) have the same objective: killing each other. But it soon becomes apparent that the only way they will survive is by forging an uneasy truce and cooperating with each other. Can they rise above the hatred that divides them long enough to stay alive?
According to Kino, the alternate ending will be included as an extra and John Boorman will be doing an interview and/or audio commentary for this edition. Pretty cool.
Yes! I really wish the original (aka the alternate) ending was the real ending. The studio mandated ending just doesn't fit the tone of the rest of the film. But definitely will pick this up!
Original ending (now alternate) was they both walk away enemies again after becoming more or less friends....I like both endings actually but would prefer the original..
