Eureka Entertainment: 2K Restorations of Jackie Chan's Project A and Project A Part II and More Genre Titles Coming Soon to Blu-ray

Posted August 2, 2018 04:58 PM by

Eureka Entertainment
Eureka Entertainment has announced that it will add seven new genre titles to its Blu-ray catalog: Jackie Chan's Project A and Project A Part II, Fred Dekker's Night of the Creeps, George A. Romero's Monkey Shines, and Troll: The Complete Collection.

Jackie Chan's Project A & Project A Part II

A pair of incredible action-adventure extravaganzas from the legendary Jackie Chan, Jackie Chan's Project A & Project A Part II make their long overdue debut on Blu-ray in the UK from brand new 2K restorations. Starring three of the greatest martial-arts action stars of all time (Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao), the Project A films blended unparalleled martial artistry, death defying stunts and physical comedy in a way that has yet to be matched.

Project A – Jackie plays Sergeant Dragon Ma, a turn-of-the-century coastguard, hot on the trail of a ruthless band of cut-throat pirates, intent on spreading a trail of blood and mayhem across the South China Seas. Project A features some of the most dangerous stunts of Jackie's career, including homages to Buster Keaton's Steamboat Bill, Jr. and Harold Lloyd's Safety Last!.

Project A Part II – After the events of the first film, Dragon Ma is given a new assignment, to clean up crime and corruption in the roughest part of town. The pressure was on to top the first film in terms of sheer spectacle, but PROJECT A PART II rises to the challenge and delivers one of the most stunt-packed, rip-roaring action-adventures of all time.

Special Features and Technical Specs:
  • NEW 2K RESTORATIONS OF BOTH FILMS

Monkey Shines

From writer/director George A. Romero, the man who unleashed Night of the Living Dead, comes a terrific psychological thriller that delivers a disturbing message about messing with Mother Nature. Starring Jason Beghe and Janine Turner, this riveting tale is a white-knuckle triumph that doesn't let up!

Allan Mann (Jason Beghe) is a bitter, angry and vengeful man ever since an accident left him paralyzed from the neck down. He's fed up with himself and everyone around him. All that changes when he's given Ella, a monkey trained to meet his every need. But when Ella begins anticipating Allan's thoughts, strange and deadly things start happening. And as she stalks and wreaks havoc on Allan's fair-weather girlfriend (Janine Turner), incompetent doctor and meddling mother, Allan realizes he must stop the cunning maniacal creature... before she fully takes over his mind!

Kate McNeil, Joyce Van Patten, Stephen Root, John Pankow and Stanley Tucci also star in this riveting thriller from the godfather of modern horror George A. Romero, presented on Blu-ray for the first time in the UK in a Dual Format (Blu-ray & DVD) edition with an array of special features.

Troll: The Complete Collection

Synopsis: Embraced by a generation of "bad" movie fans, Troll 2 has become one of the most iconic cult films of its generation, and to this day regularly plays to sold-out theatres of adoring fans. Presented here alongside the first (and entirely unrelated) film, Troll, as well as Best Worst Movie, the definitive documentary on the film's unexpected resurgence as a cult favourite, Troll: The Complete Collection is a celebration of one of the most unusual success stories in movie history.

Troll – The Potter family (including future Law & Order star Michael Moriarty as "Harry Potter") is about to find out there's no place like home when a troublesome troll starts taking over their building, transforming each apartment into an overgrown garden of ancient evil and turning tenants into a horde of hairy hobgoblins.

Troll 2 – After his family moves to the rural community of "Nilbog" (spoilers, it's goblin spelled backwards), a g-g-g-ghost warns young Joshua Waits that vegetarian goblins want to transform him and his family into plants and then eat them.

Best Worst Movie – An affectionate and intoxicatingly fun tribute to one of the greatest bad movies ever made, and the people responsible for unleashing it upon the world.

Special Features and Technical Specs:
  • 1080p presentation of Troll, Troll 2 and for the first time ever on Blu-ray, Best Worst Movie.

Got to love these beautiful Jackie Chan sets. Never seen these ones though, how do they rank next to the Police Stories?

Both films are very entertaining. As far as I am concerned, this was where Jackie Chan was most effective -- when he mixed incredible action with the exotic. Not in the same league as the Armor of God films as the humor there promotes a different type of atmosphere, but still exotic enough and these films unload a ton of whacky stunts. This is Chan's best period.

For my money, the Project A movies are Jackie Chan's greatest achievements in a long career full of high points. Just fabulous stuff. So happy these are finally getting the respect and care they deserve!

I like the project A films but nowhere near Jackies best which would be drunken master 2, dragons forever, wheels on meals, police story trilogy, armor of the gods 1 & 2, island on fire.

I already have the Korean all-region limited editions (777 numbered) which are great, but the extras on these Eureka sets are worth double-dipping.

@RiFiFi, buy with confidence. I'm an enormous Jackie Chan fan and for me the best franchises he had were (in order) 1) Police Story, 2) Armour of God, 3) Project A. There's a couple favorites of mine that weren't franchise titles, like Snake in the Eagle's Shadow and Dragons Forever, and my next favorite (as yet unnamed franchise) is probably the Lucky Stars series.

Half A Loaf Of Kung-Fu would outsell all of these combined.

Although I haven't seen it for years, I remember Project A as being one of his best. It's great these are finally getting decent blu ray releases. My personal favourites from JC are Young Master and Dragon Lord - they would make a great double bill especially if they could source the original english dub.
